Love how Zack's scent's changed now that he's gone feral, and how Cloud notices it.

Heh! It's no wonder that Cloud immediately notices Zack's scent because it's probably one of his strongest memories of Zack from the time they escaped Nibelheim.

Was the enhanced senses purely from Hojo's meddling, or are they improving because of the Cetra virus becoming more active in him and Cloud just assumes his enhanced senses come from Hojo's meddling?

I see Cloud's enhanced senses as being pretty much standard for people with SOLDIER-type modifications (in my AUs, anyway) -- a side-effect of mako combined with Jenova cells. Jenova is a predator herself, so it's reasonable that her cells can cause sensory enhancements. However, it's also likely that Cloud is now more sensitive to Zack's particular scent, simply because they're mates, even if Cloud doesn't consciously know that yet.

And you've demonstrated Cloud's stubborness in his attempts to remember Sephiroth wonderfully, as well as Zack's care for him in the way Zack keeps on telling him to just 'leave it' and not force the issue.

Cloud knows that there's someone else (besides Zack and Aeris) who was very important to him, so it must be absolutely maddening to be unable to remember to identify that person. Again, Cloud perceives it as an issue of weakness on his part, which is why he keeps trying to force himself. Zack, naturally doesn't see it that way. ::pets feral-Zack::

Zack knows that the Change will definitely help Cloud to accept Sephiroth's emotional importance because the Change will put Cloud much more in sync with his inner feelings (e.g., his instincts). Up to this point, Cloud's been very leery about trusting those inner feelings, especially regarding Sephiroth, because he's understandably fearful that it's merely the residue of some sick mindgame insane-Sephiroth played (and possibility is still playing) with him.

Of course Tifa's going to jump to conclusions and assume the worst possible interpretation; because she doesn't want to have anyone around who knows Cloud better than she does or who cares for him more.

Unfortunately, she's gotten used to her place as the one closest to Cloud and the greatest presence in his life (relatively speaking, of course). And now, Zack pops up and everything changes. Tifa could be reasonably confident that even if Cloud wasn't sexually interested in her, there's no competition for her, so she can take her time. But with Zack there, Tifa now has an obvious rival. And to make things even worse, a rival with a past sexual relationship with Cloud.

At this moment, I don't think it has fully sunk in that Cloud was in a sexual relationship not only with Zack, but Aeris as well. So even if Tifa managed to control or overcome her jealousy over the way Cloud obsessed over Aeris even without remembering their shared past, this new revelation of Aeris's relationship with Cloud is going to make that understandable jealousy much worse.

And I loved how surprised Cloud was that Zack killed those people for hurting him.

After all the trauma and abuse he's been through, it's no surprise that Cloud's sense of worth has taken not only a serious battering, but has become somewhat skewed. In combat, I'm sure he's quite confident in his abilities, but in interpersonal matters, he probably doesn't see himself as that special, particularly when he's forgotten about the three people who loved him so dearly.
