Have a chocobo-Cloud cookie!

Yay! ::gobbles down cookie::

Glad you got the reference, although the actual name of the guy is "Chauvin", so there's a slight spelling error there. Oh well. ::shrug::

Oh well, I was paying much attention to spelling, anyway. ::shrug::

Oh, I imagine there's going to be a fair bit of human-scum-hunting in the future. The pro-human fanatics tend to think of ferals as unthinking (or barely thinking) animals, conveniently forgetting the fact that Sephiroth is pretty much in charge of the feral forces. So while they might be ferals, they're certainly not stupid and are going to take their time gathering intelligence, locating their targets, etc. ::snerk::

So the pro-human fanatics will pat themselves on the back, thinking that they've gotten away with their little atrocity. They'll soon find out that they're very badly mistaken soon enough.

Ooh! Ooh! Better yet, when Nanaki does hunt Chauvin down and kill him, he's the only human who dies in that particular attack. The other ferals just keep the defenders pinned down in their bunkers, unable to attack or retaliate, while biped!Nanaki just walks calmly in, past Tifa and Barret (who are too busy goggling at him to do anything!), finds Chauvin and then lays into him for Cosmo Canyon. After thin-paste-smear!Chauvin is all that's left, Nanaki just shakes off the blood on his fur, then calmly walks out of the humans' base. The ferals break off the attack, and then… all is silent. Many 'WTF'-ing going on, on the humans' side.

Whatcha think?

Maybe. Maybe not. ^_- But if I had to make a snap judgment, I'd say that it's too easy a punishment for the scumbag. The pro-human fanatics need an unmistakable lesson of their place in this new world. Mere physical death, no matter how momentarily painful and slow, is hardly the worst thing one can experience. Just ask Cloud.

::nods sagely:: True, very true. Use it or not, it was just an idea, anyway.

I mostly just thought of it as a counter to the "mindless animals" mentality the pro-human zealots have of the ferals. (Just calling them "fanatics" would be an insult to fanatics everywhere, unfortunately.)

The fact that the ferals would be able to plan as in-depth as this, kill no-one except their target yet keep the humans from coordinating by pinning them down like that, plus the symbolism of having biped!Nanaki do it…! It'd throw their happy little bigot worldviews for a loop.

Combine that with the old saying, "There are no atheists in foxholes," and it'll drive the point home to the humans – past all the arrogance and bigotry and self-superiority – that they f%cked up royally on this one.
