There's one line that really piques my curiousity:

Marlene, smart cub she was, had wisely kept Denzel out of Cloud's sight.

So what's going on with Marlene? Because the thought occured to me at work that it'd wonderfully mean to have her turn feral and watch Barret collapse in horror.

I am however presuming that Denzel is still human - maybe Cloud kept him as a pet - or Marlene did.

I love the image of Cloud calming down by going through his chocobo herd and preening them.

Oh, and I love the bit about Aeris chasing Zack out with storms of flower petals - reminds me of what I've heard about Marluxia, that one of his characteristic attacks is flurries of razor sharp sakura petals.

Well, once I linked the flora/plant motif with Aeris, all sorts of cool imagery pops into mind.

Oh, and she chased Cloud out of the room, not Zack.

::nodnod:: Also there's Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho), who has a lot of seriously nasty plant-based attacks.

Oops, yeah! Still, the image is hilarious.

Not seen that either - really, I haven't seen much at all in the way of anime - but the thought of thorns also just came to mind, and possibly spore-based attacks as well (and spores don't nessesarily have to be for attack only - I can't help but think that while Aeris is taking care of Nanaki she might be able to keep him sedated with spores as well - making them a good delivery method for any sort of drug effect one might wish).

That's definitely a useful idea, especially since she's a healer. She can also use plants, fungi, etc. to do a lot of things. Even perhaps some kinky things. ^_-

Yes, I'm being wonderfully mean to both Tifa and Barret. As for what happens with Marlene and Denzel (and how it affects Tifa and Barret), check out this thread in a previous post. ^_-

Heh! Yes, poor Cloud needed something to keep his hands... er, I mean beak busy. But once he's calmed down, THEN he's going to make sure those vile pro-human fanatics will be sorry. ::evil cackle::

That thread was quite informative, and very much along the exact lines I was thinking.

I also like the note in the fic about how Soldiers went to the Ferals' side - though it makes me wonder just how much of the other parts of the Compilation you are including elements of - mainly because, despite not having got around to actually playing the game she's in, I have strong fondness for Shelke. Of course there's the odd detail about her being practically Lucrecia v.2, but that just makes the whole thing more fun when one considers the arkwardness that resulted after DoC between her and Vincent.

I'm basing the game mainly on the original game, Advent Children, and Last Order. I'm only picking and choosing various bits from the other games (Before Crisis, Crisis Core, etc.)

And sorry, but I can almost guarantee no Shelke, because I'm really not fond of how Lucrecia gets depicted in Dirge of Cerberus, so a Lucrecia v.2 has zero appeal for me. -_-

Vincent gets broody enough about the original Lucrecia ::eye-rolling:: and having a replica of her around is... bleah, especially when Cid and Vincent are destined to be mates. Shera, I can see in their pack, but a Lucrecia-replicate? Uhhh, no.

As a whole, I'm not particularly fond of the Dirge of Cerberus plot (e.g., the whole Deep Ground SOLDIER stuff, Lucrecia, cyber-Hojo, etc). It really didn't feel like 'Final Fantasy' to me. ::shrug::

However, I'm probably borrowing the high-tech background of DoC, with respect to Reeve and Cait Sith. ^_^

Ahh well, It occured to me that the sort of possible uneasiness that facinates me about the whole Lucrecia v.2 thing wouldn't fit into this 'verse anyway.

Some time I need to get around to that game - but then the same thing applies for quite a few of my PS2 games.

If you're looking for Vincent-angst and Vincent-guilt, there's a nice dose on the way in "Contagion". Cid might not blame Vincent for basically infecting him with the feral Cetra virus, but you just know Vincent will blame himself. ::sigh::

Of course he'll blame himself! He has them mad brooding skillz! My icon is a perfect example!
