In any case, we've all been operating under the assumption that the Cetra are all like Aeris and Ifalna. What if that wasn't the case?

That's always been a possibility. We know so little about the Cetra and admittedly, Ifalna's and Aeris's POV can be a bit skewed by pure ignorance.

I mean, humans are depowered Cetra and we know what a bunch of idiots they can be. It could be that the Cetra were vicous, warlike people who constantly fought and killed each other (you could even make it so the lost-ago Cetra wars were a way to add glory to the Planet) until they finally whacked each other too much, and had to turn into nice people in order to keep their species alive. The resulting lack of aggression and cessation of the feral!Cetra powers could even be what caused the Cetra to turn into normal people.

Well, the current theory for the Feral-verse is that the original Cetra were a hyper-predatory virus, much like Jenova, which started to infect humanity many eons ago. Somewhere along the line, the Cetra tried to reject or repress the feral aspects of their nature and turned to nurturing worlds instead of preying on them. However, the 'true' (i.e., feral) Cetra virus strain is still around and is becoming active again.

Hmm, interesting idea there. If you don't use it, I will. Not for the OT4, but something else for sure.

Well, I'm using the feral!Cetra-virus plot for Feral-verse, but I'd love to see you explore the militaristic Cetra idea you mentioned above. ^_^

Yah, I only started realizing you'd posted the first feral!Cetra-virus bit after I'd posted my comment. My bad.

And I read it, by the way, and it was good. SO GOOD. I like Cid being infected and turning scaly, and I'm so glad you like Princess Artemis too. The Thief of Hell and Venus Gospel were very, very good.
