And while the dream wasn't specifically COI-related, it was most definitely FF7-related. Something about Cloud (completely clothed and armed) jumping off some elevated road bridge in Midgar on a bright sunny day into a lake of pristine blue water. And standing on a stone platform at water's edge was Sephiroth (also completely clothed) who was looking a combination of indulgent, mildly annoyed, and amused. It all had a rather casual, playful atmosphere.
And that was basically it. Sorry, no X-rated stuff to follow. Why Cloud suddenly wanted to do a cannonball into the water from a bridge a hundred feet in the air, why Sephiroth was standing around with an indulgent smirk as he watches Cloud splash around, and why Midgar suddenly looked like some lush fantastic tropical luxury resort/water park, I really can't say.
But I can sure take a hint. Work on COI. Gotcha.
Not to say that my waking hours are COI plot bunny-free. I happened to wander into Best Buy a few days ago and heard Rhianna's song 'Unfaithful', with its exquisitely plaintive lines "I don't wanna do this anymore. I don't want to be the reason why." The COI plot bunnies glommed ferociously onto those lines -- never mind that the song itself has something to do with a woman feeling guilty about an affair.
Suddenly, the COI plot bunnies demanded that I have someone -- anyone! -- sing or even hum that song. ::shudder:: The best I could think of was perhaps that the song was part of the play or movie Loveless (that gets mentioned a few times in the game) and that someone -- Cloud, Zack, Sephiroth, etc. -- heard it and for some bizarre reason is singing/humming it. Although it would be a nice little scene, with Cloud/Zack absently humming the song and Sephiroth being the one to casually identify it -- something that would surely garner some double-takes from onlookers. ::evil grin::
My COI plot bunnies get very bizarre -- and dare I say it, perverse -- inspiration from songs. 'Haunted' by Evanescence would seem to be a perfect fit for Cloud and Sephiroth's decidedly obsessive and dysfunctional relationship. But for some unfathomable reason, the song suddenly sparked off thoughts of a dark Zack. Not evil, mind you, but definitely darkish -- a hungry, demanding, violent Zack that no one else except Sephiroth has seen....
I think that I mentioned before in my LJ that: (1) in COI, Zack and Sephiroth have had sex on several occasions, but aren't a couple in the typical romantic or sexual sense; (2) their first sexual encounter was most definitely rough and NOT of the warm-and-fuzzy variety. The obvious scenerio is dark predatory Sephiroth (who's not quite himself) pouncing on not-quite-fully-resisting Zack, but some reason, it felt a bit 'meh'. Blah.
But what about dark predatory Zack (who's not quite himself) pouncing on not-quite-fully-resisting Sephiroth....
Like I said, my COI plot bunnies are a horde of relentless, polymorphically perverse, tyrannical beasties.
::resigns herself to more involuntary COI pondering as the plot bunnies pound triumphantly on their voodoo drums::
