G-Defend 24 - Delightful as always. Fortunately, I came across the g_defend LJ community, so now I've got a much better idea of what the heck's going on and the cast of characters. Morimoto Shuw uses the most godawful adventure cliches (e.g., bombs defused with 2 seconds left on the clock; amnesia; etc.) but she gets away with it because the characters are so damn adorable! Volume 25 is due out in late March. ::makes note in calendar::
Silver Diamond 3-4 - It just gets yummier every time I see it. Chigusa gets several opportunities to hold Rakan tightly/firmly in his arms. ::snerk:: And I simply adore Kou (Narushige's pet snake/sword). It's amazing how expressive a few squiggly lines can be, especially when Kou smooches Narushige -- complete with little floating hearts! *__* Then again, I don't expect anything less from Sugiura Shiho (she of "Ice-Cold Demon's Tale" fame). Volume 5 is due sometime in late April. ::makes yet another note in calendar::
Saiyuki Reload 4 - OH MY GOD. Young Goku (when he was first rescued by Sanzou) is so DAMN cute! ::squees, then passes out from cuteness overload:: This volume has a series of flashback stories. One story involves the first time Sanzou encounters the unleashed, undiademed Son Goku. Aside for the appearance of the uber-cute young Goku and the uber-powerful Son Goku, we get to see Sanzou genuinely and affectionately smile. This being Sanzou, it's a very small, very fleeting, and rather wry sort of smile, but nevertheless, it's a real smile, and not one of his downright scary "I'm going to make you so friggin' sorry" types of grins. As an added bonus, we get to see a fleeting glimpse of Hakkai removing his limiters and going youkai! ::evil laugh::
I just placed my order for volume 5 (special edition) of Loveless, along with vol. 9 of the FMA manga. ::rubbing hands in anticipation:: I also saw what are probably new artbooks and/or fan guides for FMA, but I'll probably wait until Otakon to pick them up because I prefer to thumb through those sorts of books before buying.
On the videogame front, after playing way too much Devil May Cry 3, I ended up getting the OSTs for DMC 1 and 2. The OST for DMC 3 won't be out until early April. ::sigh:: Must... resist... urge... to preorder....
I really shouldn't listen to the DMC OSTs while driving. The soundtracks are positively designed to make the listener feel like an absolute badass. Which is all fine and dandy while playing the game and blasting/hacking demon butt, but perhaps not conducive to courteous, cool-headed driving. ::massive sweatdrop::
